(P) Remember when I said that by the time we finally got back to Iowa, our life here had already started in a big way? Well, whether you remember or not, I am going to tell you all about it!
Last winter Alex and I were debating if we should stay in Spokane for another semester (and another semester's worth of bills) for him to get his certified flight instructor rating(CFI). The certification would allow alex to get to know the airplane even better, open up the potential for more flight hours (practice!) over the next couple of years, and would give him a leg up once we joined an organization. In the end we decided it would be wiser to just move on for now. So then the next question arose. Where would he work? We wanted to be close to Iowa city in order to reconnect with our church families there, but that required an available aviation position in the area. So we prayed. Fast forward to mid August. We were in Colorado for Kelly's wedding, we had been unemployed for almost two months, we would be done traveling in less than a week, and I was getting nervous. So Alex began working on his resume. Once it was finished (and I certainly thought it was pretty impressive), he sent an email to the friend of a friend who works at the Iowa city airport. In short, he was offered the job only days later. But it gets better! The position is for an aircraft mechanic, and Alex is currently one of the best educated mechanics there. Additionally, the company just bought a flight school. They asked Alex if he, for a fraction of the time and money than Moody, would get his CFI while he works there and instruct at the school! God is good. So my hubby started work a week after we returned to Iowa. Between that and trying to catch up with everyone, I'm not sure he has stopped to breathe since! I on the other hand, am still very much unemployed and looking for work. I guess that is alright though. We have already witnessed God's provision so many times. All the other things will fall into place in their own good time right? All I need now is patience.
