It is hard to believe that it was eight years ago this month that Alex packed his bags and took the twenty six hour trip to Spokane, Washington for the first time to start school. His goal then was to finish the five year bachelor in mission aviation technology at Moody and then head overseas to apply everything he learned during that time. Nearly a decade later it is fun to look back on how far we have come. The whole process took a little longer than expected when Alex set out on the journey at nineteen years old and everything he owned fit in the back of his car. (Side note: he purposely put everything in the back so that his life size cutout of Tommy the Power Ranger would fit in the front seat with him as a co-pilot) There is no counting the time we have spent dreaming about what this day would look like and considering all the possibilities, not to even mention the time spent in preparation. But all the anticipation makes this moment all that much sweeter! On June 19th, almost exactly a month after our kiddo was born, we signed a contract as a pilot mechanic family with Mission Aviation Fellowship. We will be spending about a year building up a team of supporters and doing other fun stuff like visa applications and selling most of what we own. At the end of that time, and after a little more training, we will hop on a plane to our new home... Indonesia! Over the past few weeks being here at headquarters we have been feed with a firehose of information about many things including what our ministry will look like when we get there. We are so excited to share this information with you over the next year and to keep you in the loop as we move forward! If you are curious to find out more before we get the chance to talk in person feel free to shoot us an email or text, or check us out on the MAF website.
